Vacation Allowances and Holidays

Vacation

KAUST follows the normal work week for Saudi Arabia, which begins Saturday and ends Wednesday. The weekend falls on Thursday and Friday.

Staff members are eligible for 30 paid vacation days a year, which they accrue at a rate of 2.5 vacation days a month. (Holidays and scheduled days off within the vacation period are not counted against that allowance).

After one year of service at KAUST, faculty and staff members become eligible for annual repatriate travel allowances. Once a year, the University will pay to fly faculty and staff members, and their eligible dependents, to their point of origin.

The University will publish an annual holiday schedule.
